House rules:

At Grappling070 we want everyone to train hard, improve fast, and most importantly stay safe. These house rules keep the mats clean, the rounds controlled, and the vibe respectful.

1. Beginner starting position

When sparring starts, one partner begins seated and the other standing. This keeps things structured and helps beginners avoid “knee wrestling” while still working real grappling situations.

2. Mat space etiquette

If the mat is crowded, be aware of your surroundings. When space is tight during sparring, lower belts yield space to higher belts and everyone should move to avoid collisions.

3. Personal hygiene

Trim your fingernails and toenails before every training session. Good hygiene protects you and your partners.

4. Safety first (no jewelry)

Remove all jewelry before training (rings, necklaces, piercings, watches). Jewelry can cause cuts, scratches, or get caught during grappling.

5. Respect and attitude

Be kind and respectful to training partners and instructors. A positive, supportive environment is everyone’s responsibility.

6. Cleanliness (flip-flops off the mat)

Flip-flops/slippers are mandatory when stepping off the mat (especially to the bathroom) to keep the training area hygienic.

7. No aggression

Aggressive behavior toward students or instructors is not tolerated. Train with control—this is a team environment, not a fight.

8. Respect the tap

When your partner taps (hand, foot, or verbally), you release immediately—no exceptions. The tap is a safety signal and must always be honored.
